"T he Perfect Reading Room: Doing It
Your Way", (c)
Amy Buttell Crane,
Health Imaging & IT,
April 1, 2008
"When it comes to reading rooms, perfection exists in
the convergence of science and personal preference. Many
factors, such as the distance from your eye to the
monitors, aren’t in dispute; for others, such as the type
of chair, ideal room temperature and reading position are
personal to individual radiologists. An environment that
merges essential ergonomics with individual needs creates
the perfect reading room with more comfortable, less
stressed, more productive radiologists..."

"How BIM Helped a Hospital Go Green", (c) Todd Bovey,
Seattle Daily Journal of Commerce, April 24, 2008
"This was a primary goal when MultiCare Health System’s
Good Samaritan Hospital planned major expansions at its
Puyallup facility. The $400 million project includes a new
nine-story patient care tower, central utility plant and
parking structure. The 300,000-square-foot patient care
tower includes a main lobby, express services, inpatient
nursing units, emergency department, surgery and operating
rooms with a central sterile area, cardiac catheterization
lab and interventional radiology, diagnostic imaging and
loading dock. LEED documentation requires
close collaboration between various members of the design
team, particularly architects and engineers. Being on the
same software platform helps a lot..."

"Digital Mammography a Leap Forward for Women; New
Screening Method Faster, More Accurate, Produces Less
Radiation", (c) Johanna King, Albuquerque Journal,
29 April 2008
"The number of women having breast cancer screenings on
a regular basis has declined in recent years, experts
agree. New technology may not be enough of an
incentive to get women back into the screening rooms. But
the director of diagnostic imaging for Lovelace Women's
Hospital figures talking about digital mammography just
might help raise awareness. "People think cancer of
the breast is on a decline, but it's not," says Barbara
Becker, who oversees operation of the new technology
installed at the hospital a couple of months ago..."
